Membership status should sync with recurring payment status

GiveCloud advertises membership management as a core feature. For organizations, that means membership status should always reflect payment status.
Currently, if a supporter cancels their recurring plan, the recurring billing stops but the membership remains Active until expiry (or indefinitely if set to “Never Expires” -- which is the current workaround). This means someone who has stopped paying can still appear as a current member unless an admin manually intervenes.
Expected Behavior (how it should already work):
When a recurring plan is cancelled, the linked membership should expire immediately.
When a recurring plan renews successfully, the membership should automatically extend.
Why It Matters:
This isn’t just a convenience request.
The promise of “membership management” implies that active memberships = active payers. Without this link, the membership feature cannot be relied upon for governance (such as the legal right to vote in an AGM), access, or eligibility — which is exactly what memberships are meant to control.

Yes! I bought up this issue back in May. Seach 'Membership Autorenew'. It's been voted on several times.
